There are many different types of programs based on your goals and your strengths and weaknesses (they should address those). There are plans out there that overall are good ones, but then things need to be adjusted, added, etc based on your needs. Without a good program that accounts for the way our bodies respond to weightlifting, you'll eventually plateau and not reach your max potential.
