MkOk more typing for now! Sorry haha- first: this picture is showing a stretch, vs an exercise. hehe. So it sounds like- again, I can't say for sure, 100%, that it could be tightness and weakness. The exercise your coach was telling you about is probably what I have a picture posted of on my profile. Check it out and let me know. That helps the glutes (butt) and hamstrings but does help stretch the hips some. What could be part of it is core, and maybe quad, weakness. Now doing bunches of crunches won't help since that hits a different core muscle. Have you done planks before? If you start adding in and doing a lot of planks (hold it for time), and maybe also leg raises, it MIGHT help. Make sure you stretch like this and pulling your knee to chest (there are others too... Maybe I'll try to post up some examples sometime). Would be thrilled if you really commit to try and see if it helps. Pulling your knee up is a function of the hip flexors, and the quads and muscles going into the abs also play a part in all that. :]612w
MkCommenting this way right now cause I can't leave a voice comment right now: it's hard to say without seeing since it could be many things... When you say you can't pull your knees up well, is it from the strength? If you pull your knee to your chest, do you feel tightness anywhere or pain? Also, do this stretch in my picture and let me know what you feel and if its tight / where it's tight. I can try to offer some thoughts but its hard to know and check without fully seeing what's happening.612w
